Albert

Viscount Albert de Morcerf is the son of Count of Morcerf and Mercedes. His best friend is Franz and he's engaged to Eugenie. All three have been friends since childhood. It's during the festival on Luna that Albert and Franz first meet The Count of Monte Cristo and the adventure begins.

To repay his debt to the Count for saving his life, Albert offers to introduce him to all the right people in Paris.

Albert clearly admires the Count despite what others may think of him. The Count acts somewhat as Albert's mentor.
