M. Danglars
M. Danglars is an extraordinarily wealthy banker. Unfortunately, he has the habid of viewing other people as mere opportunities, including his family. Danglars has promised his daughter, Eugenie, to Morcerf regardless of her wishes. Although this is not uncommon, Danglars has a way of being brutally honest about his intentions.
Highlight for spoilers:Danglars was involved with the plot to imprison Monte Cristo. He was jealous of his success and popularity.
