• The Count of Monte Cristo is a fantastic story no matter what media it's told with. Gankutsuou is no exception. In fact, I found this adaptation more faithful to the book than the recent movie was.
• Gankutsuou is visually stunning. The art is a bit difficult to describe, but that's what the gallery is for. If any series breaks the anime mold, it's this one.
• Have you ever found anime too juvenile? Have you ever thought a little less action and a little more plot and intrigue would be nice? Gankutsuou is one of those few shows that provide substance along with the pretty moving pictures.
